As a South African Company it is our goal to enrich the lives of the people that make this a beautiful country to be part of. To this extent our Social Investment committee aim to partner with organisations and campaigns that are relevant to our brands and work hard at improving the lives of those less fortunate.

For the past 2 years, Everysun has sponsored 5 Camp Sunshine's around the country. 2010/11 will see Everysun doubling the amount of sponsored camps from 5 to 10! Each branch throughout the country hosts their own unique Camp Sunshine at least three times a year. The venues lend themselves to the safety and special needs of our dream children. The camp sites are chosen for their host of activities, close proximity to a hospital, wheelchair accessibility and mounds of great food!

The children are collected on a Friday and spend the entire weekend being well taken care of, enjoying activities such as swimming, obstacle courses, stalk the lantern, environmental awareness, art, game drives, team challenges and all the things children love to do on a camp. The objective of the camps is to give children the opportunity to leave their worries and illness behind for a weekend and enjoy days of fun with their friends who are in similar situations of illness and fear. For some children the beanie on a bald head is a source of comfort, but by the time the weekend is over, most children have discarded their beanies and feel totally accepted by their peers and are enjoying everything the camp has to offer without shame.

Doctors and parents report that when children return from camps, they seem happier and are able to cope better. Care-givers, volunteers and Reach For A Dream staff are all on hand 24 hours a day during the camp to attend to each child's needs and to love and support them. On the last day of the camp, each individual child is called by name to receive a Camp Sunshine certificate stating that they have qualified as a Reach For A Dream Camp Sunshine camper.
